Screening of The Mask You Live In

May 12, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Please join us for a reception from 5-6, where there will be light refreshments. During the reception you will have the opportunity to hear more about our initiative, Building Healthier Communities through Empowered Relationships/CT Strong, and mingle with members of the community. After the reception, we will screen The Mask You Live In, a documentary that follows a diverse group of boys and young men as they struggle to stay true to themselves while negotiating America’s narrow definition of masculinity.

We urge you to stay for a Question & Answer session following the film with one of our partners on this project, James Arana from MERGE for Equality, Inc. (MERGE). MERGE and James bring a 34-year legacy of transforming masculinity, preventing violence and advancing gender equality, in communities of North America, Africa, Asia and Europe.  With the film as a frame, which ultimately illustrates how we, as a society, can raise a healthier generation of boys and young men, and James’ extensive knowledge and experience of doing just that around the world, we plan to engage in a rich discussion that leads to the beginning of a call to action to raise a healthier generation of boys in our community!

We look forward to seeing you there!
