Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Clinical Rotation Opportunities

School Based Heath Center Medical Services:

• Observational and hands-on experience alongside a board-certified pediatric or family nurse practitioner in a school-based clinic in New London, Groton, Stonington, Waterford, or Ledyard
• Exposure to pediatric primary care for students, providing annual well-child exams, vaccines, treatment for acute and chronic illnesses, prescriptions, mental health screenings and referral to treatments, and care coordination
• Working with populations from preschool age through high school and late adolescents/early adulthood
• Experience in delegation to assigned clinic assistants as well as in clinic management and licensure requirements
• Learn about school systems and advocacy
• Weekday hours to match school schedule
