CQI STEERING COMMITTEE

The CQI Steering Committee helps the Agency expand its current CQI plan, which prioritizes the vital importance of continuous program assessment to continue delivering effective and high-quality care, and activities beyond the services offered by CFA.

Based on our guiding mission and strategic framework, the Steering Committee annually develops and reviews a written Agency-wide plan. The Steering Committee meets regularly throughout the year with ongoing evaluation processes to make optimal use of resulting feedback from clients and staff.

The CQI Steering Committee is inclusive of two subcommittees: Mental Health and Medical Services and Early Education and Care.

IDEAS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Anti-racism, and Social Justice)

CFA’s IDEAS Team (originally Health Equity Team) is comprised of volunteer staff members who support the CQI Steering Committee’s work to provide Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services to CFA clients and promote and support equitable health services. The IDEAS Team reviews and responds to the changing social climate, as well as the escalating concerns regarding social justice.

The IDEAS Team’s accomplishments have influenced much of CFA’s work, with staff members tasked with specific subcommittees as the Agency moves forward. In 2021, the Agency held racial trainings open to all staff members through the CT company, Welcome2Reality.

Organizational Development Subcommittee

Is responsible for reviewing available and newly developed training offerings through Relias, a healthcare training, and performance solutions platform, which will further develop staff awareness of racial justice and cultural sensitivity. Training will be added to the new hire Onboarding Process and to the Annual Requirements and Optional Requirements for staff. Additionally, this subcommittee will conduct a review of the Agency’s policies and procedures, with a specific focus on language and practice to assure best practices.

Support for Bi-Lingual Clinical Staff Subcommittee

Is responsible for reviewing models of supervisory and group support for bi-lingual clinical staff in order to support stronger staff retention and professional growth. Additionally, this subcommittee reviews opportunities to provide additional support for bi-lingual staff clinical staff’s licensing exam preparation, including recommendations for specialized training.

Integrating a Racial Justice Framework into CFA Mental Health and Medical Services Subcommittee

Is responsible for reviewing training models available to support ongoing integration of greater awareness and skill development into the Agency’s Mental Health and Medical services.

Integrating a Racial Justice Framework into CFA Early Care and Education Services Subcommittee

Is responsible for reviewing training models available to support ongoing integration of greater awareness and skill development into the Agency’s Early Care and Education services.
