Mystic Noank Stonington Auxiliary Fall 2013 Newsletter
Dear Members and Friends–
As the 2013 holiday season grows near, we wanted to update you on the recent goings on in the M/N/S Auxiliary.
In September, we held our first meeting as co-chairs and were thrilled with the turnout as old and new friends of C&F came to the La Grua Center. It was a lovely evening, and we were thrilled to be joined by C&F CEO Tom Gullotta. Many ideas and suggestion for activities and fundraising were discussed.
At our second meeting in November, Jo Ann Eaccarino, Associate Director of School Based Health Centers, came to update us on the latest news from the School Based Health Center that was opened this fall at Pawcatuck Middle School. In October, they hosted a “Say Boo to the Flu” event, where more than 140 children received a free flu shot. We are planning a ribbon cutting event for this facility in early December. Please watch for updates on the website and other notifications–we’d love to see you there !
The 41st annual meeting went off without a hitch. It was a great treat to have Governor Dan Malloy speak to the crowd and help recognize various members of the organization for their outstanding service. Linda Burrows was named as the M/N/S Volunteer of the Year. We all know how much Linda does for Child and Family and the honor is well deserved.
One of Linda’s biggest projects, and that of the auxiliary, the Polar Express, is well underway. Thanks to your generosity, M/N/S was able to adopt 5 large families this year. It is safe to say we as a group are doing much to make the holiday brighter for those families.
There will be much more to come in 2014 and we look forward to working with each of you.
