Fifty years ago, in 1966, Truman Capote held his “Party of the Century.” People are still talking about it. But that was last century…
On August 27th, our Black and White Gala will be the party of this century. Capote’s party was held in honor of Katherine Graham. Our gala will be in honor of Child and Family’s own Alva Gimbel Greenberg, the former owner of the Pictorial Gazette and longtime Child and Family Agency volunteer. Griswold Point in Old Lyme will provide the perfect backdrop for an evening filled with music, masks, champagne and good friends. We will start with cocktails on the gorgeous lawn with sweeping views of the Connecticut River and the Sound. Elegant food stations will allow everyone to dine at their leisure and we will cap off the evening with music for those serious dancers who want to work off the impact of the decadent desserts!
The attire for the evening is black tie and black mask for the gentleman and white or black dress and white or black masks for the ladies. Rumor has it that many of the Black and White Party Committee members have already purchased their masks!
Tickets are $125 per person.
Come with a group! If you assemble 8 of your friends for a reserved table, you can get a group discount from the individual ticket price – $900 for a table of 8.
